Full Form of BDO
The full form of BDO is the Block Department Officer. A BDO is one who takes the sole responsibility for the welfare and development of the respective block and looks into all other cases or issues that take place in the block. They are the one who gives all sort of permission and approval for the development or construction of the block in terms of railway and roads.
As a BDO you have certain duties or responsibilities to take into and work on it. They take the duty to handle or make progress in the block and prepare all sorts of plans to implement for the development of the block. All the reports regarding robbery and theft are collected by them and submitted to the Panchayat Samiti. Even the budget is represented by the BDO and is submitted to the Panchayat Samiti.
The Eligibility Criteria to be a BDO

Citizenship
The aspirant should be a citizen of India. An Indian is only qualified to become a BDO.
Age Limit

SC/ST | 5 years of age relaxation and till 37years they can try to be a BDO |
OBC | 3 years of age relaxation and till 35 years they can try to be a BDO |
General | The age limit is between 21-32 years |
Disabled/Handicapped | 10years of age relaxation with an age limit for handicapped is 42 years |
Educational Qualification
The educational qualification that you have to carry for this post is either a graduate of Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university from any stream. Even a master’s degree considered for such exams. The basic qualification that you require graduation in any filed of your choice.

The PCS that is State Service Public Commission is responsible to held this exam.

General Studies Paper-1
The candidate needs to prepare these papers to crack the exams.
Indian Politics, Indian Geography, External and Internal Security, International Relations, Science and Technology, human rights, literacy, ecology, statistics, and democracy.
General Studies Paper-2
This paper consists of Reasoning, English Comprehensive, reasoning, and decision making. Paper-2 is qualifying with a score of 33% in total.
PSC Mains Exam
